Oops I did it again!

Ok, so I am not as dedicated blogger as I set out to be. I kept thinking that I needed to update my posts, but I just couldn’t think of what to write. So here is a quick update on our past month.
February:
– My brother turned 40!!! Such an old fart HAHAH, but we love him anyway!
– Tim and I said we weren’t getting anything for each other for Valentine’s day. Well I pulled one of his tricks and went out and bought him an iPad. Such an impulse buy but I had no idea what I was buying. He ended up returning it, not because I bought the wrong thing, but because the iPad2 was being released shortly.
– Some IDIOT was driving under the influence of something and caused a 6 car crash. Guess who was in the accident – ME! Only my rear bumper was damaged, but such a pain to have a crashed car.
– Not much attic progress, but some of the Christmas lights are finally being taken off!

March:
– iPad2 x2. Yes we stood in line at Best Buy for 5 hours, 2nd and 3rd in line. Only Tim was going to get one, but he decided that I needed one too and that would be my early birthday present. Tim got the 32GB wifi and I got the 16GB wifi. We love using them! Tim uses his more, but I am getting mine configured to use with my interactive whiteboard at school.
– In like a lion and hopefully out like a lamb. This weather is crazy!!! It is warm one day, freezing by the evening and for the next few days it rains like no other! I can’t wait for Spring and no more heavy jackets. I saw a robin yesterday and my neighbor’s daffodils have started to come up, just green, but hopefully soon lots of yellow will be seen!!!
– We are true MAC geeks!!! Tim broke down and bought a MACBookPro. He wants to start doing iPhone/iPad applications and needed a Mac to do it, so Saturday we went and bought him one. I haven’t used a MAC since I first started teaching. I would love to get the MACBookAir because they are super small, super light, and look REALLY cool!!! My computer is great for now so I will just stick with my DELL and eventually I will flip back to the MAC world!

Sorry this post was so long, I am going to try to get back to my blogging. Hopefully I can start to get some really good pics of the kids and post them for all to see

Today Tim and I continued to work on the play room in the attic.  It is going to be a long process but we are getting it done little by little.  Tonight Molly didn’t want to go in her bed.  She is still in the crib we had when Derek was born.  She got rid of her pacifier so now she is a big girl so she was crying asking for a big girl bed because she is a big girl now.  She didn’t like the “bars” or crib rails in front of her anymore.  I am happy for her that she is growing up and being more independent, but I am sad that my little baby is growing up so fast.  It seems like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital and now she is a big girl.

Derek insisted on us going to  On the Border for dinner tonight.   He didn’t want Mexican food, him and Molly both ordered a corn dog and french fries.  I have no idea why he wanted to go there but I was happy because the food was great!  We had empanadas for an appetizer, my mom had enchiladas, Tim had beef brisket tacos, and I had a chimichanga.  Derek and Molly both had to order their food like “big people.”  It was funny to hear them tell the waitress what they wanted to eat.

Today was groundhog’s day.  Phil didn’t see his shadow so hopefully Spring is coming!! We had another snow day today.

I can’t believe January is over already.  I am hoping our crazy snow/ice/cold weather is soon over too.  I woke up this morning with horrible sinus pain.  I don’t want to have any more days off of school, but thank goodness I was home today to be able to rest.  Ok enough about that.

During the week I am very busy teaching during the day and working at the gym at nights, so on the weekends I try to cook meals that can be heated during the week and I also try to bake something for desert for the week.  I had a few ripe bananas in the kitchen so this weekend’s dessert was a Banana Chocolate Chip Cake made by Derek, Molly, and me.  It was FABULOUS!!!  I followed the recipe exactly as it was given.  My suggestion would be to double the recipe because the cake was really flat.  I also put Betty Crocker cream cheese icing on top.  Let me know what you think if you try it!!!

 

Lost Days

I am sorry I have not blogged in almost a week!!!  I seem to have lost the past few days to ice/snow days, report cards, and sicknesses.

Tonight was Molly’s first ballet class.  She is in preschool ballet at Berks Ballet and Theater Dance Academy.  She is the youngest one there but she was doing all the things her teacher asked her to do.  She has a wonderful teacher and she really LOVED being there.  Parents are not in the room with the children, we have to stay out in the hall and watch through a door window.  I would have liked to see more of her in class but I totally understand why parents are asked to stay outside the room.  I will post a super short video later.

Back to work, finally!! Today we had an early dismissal that was supposed to be scheduled for Friday.  Vanessa has started as my student teacher for the next 7 weeks.  She is doing a GREAT job!

SICKNESS UPDATE:

We had a HORRIBLE night’s sleep last night.  Derek now has a rash all over his body that looks like he is sunburned, his tongue looks like someone put vanilla frosting down the middle of it, and still a high fever that is not breaking.  He was so exhausted he was having sleep terrors for about an hour last night.  Molly was up until 3:24 AM restless and complaining of ear pain.

Today my mom stayed with the kids so Tim and I could go to work.  Jen took both Derek and Molly to the dr.  Derek has scarlet fever, which is a form of strep, and Molly has the beginning of an ear infection.  Antibiotics for both.  I hope we start to get better soon!!!

Sunday, Sick day.  We didn’t go to church this morning because all of us are now starting to get sick.  Molly and I went to the grocery store, but that is about all we did.  Tim got to work on the attic a little bit.  My mom is going to stay at our house tonight and watch the kids tomorrow.  Molly has a low grade fever so she will be home tomorrow, too.
